GLADS, Inc. a 501(C)3, not-for-profit organization, is strictly a volunteer-based organization with no paid employees. Operating expenses are paid for by the founders.
100% of monies donated to GLADS are paid directly to the organizations/purposes designated by the donors.
Our current primary use of funds is to help offset the cost of adopting children with Down Syndrome, a fee paid by adoptive parents. These fees are charged by the adoption agencies located in both the birth parents’ and the adoptive parents’ States.
Unfortunately, the average cost for an adoption is now over $20,000. GLADS provides a $3,000 grant to each adoptive family helping to offset these adoption costs.
Grants are awarded through NDSAN applications.
