Jaxton's Family

Our adoption story is one of our favorite stories to tell, because it’s the ultimate testimony of God’s love and guidance.

When we started trying to grow our family in 2015, we had no idea how many doors we’d be opening only to have them slammed shut in our faces. We faced 4 years of loss after loss, and no after no. Nothing felt right in our hearts until the day we came across the NDSAN. Our hearts sang louder and louder the more we read about NDSAN and their mission. We had found our calling! We knew instantly that was where we would find the baby God had promised us!

We joined the NDSAN registry on May 1st, 2019 our first cases came to us on Mother’s Day and then started coming in consistently after that. We put our “yes” in on several cases and received several “no’s” in return. We were only on the registry for a couple of months when we started wondering if there was something wrong with our profile or even worse... US. We reached out to Stephanie about our concerns and she reassured us that there was in fact nothing wrong with our profile or us and encouraged us to keep moving forward. Two weeks later, on July 31st, 2019 we got the call we had been waiting for... We were matched with a baby boy due in October 2019!!

It was love at first sight. We knew the second we saw him the this was meant to be.  He is the missing piece we have been searching for, he has brought so much joy to our entire family.  J was and is our biggest blessing! We couldn’t imagine a life without our sweet boy or our incredible relationship with his birth family.

God knows what he is doing! We gave our hearts to Him and trusted He would lead us to our promised little one, and he did that plus so much more! Not only did God lead us to J, he led us to new friendships and a huge support system in the Down syndrome community! We are continuously amazed by His beauty!

November 2023

Jaxton his growing so big.  He now attends preschool for 2 hours a day 2 days a week.  He has made a schools worth of friends there as well.  He has been making great progress in walking by himself.  Learning additional signs as well as vocalizing new words.  Jaxton passed his sleep study with very minor obstructed sleep apnea.

He got a good bill of health from our yearly visit with the Down syndrome clinic. They were very impressed with how well Jaxton is growing.  We are so grateful to be a part of the GLADS Family.  Thank you for your continued support.
